Composition

Each sachet contains: Diosmectite 3.0 g/g; Sodium chloride 0.263 g/g; Potassium chloride 0.0373 g/g; Anhydrous tripotassium citrate 0.162 g/g; Trisodium citrate 0.147 g/g; Glucose (anhydrous dextrose) 1.982 g/g. Excipients: vanillin, sodium saccharin, silicon dioxide, cream flavor, vanilla flavor, beta-carotene colorant.

Product Description and Instructions for Use

D-ORS® is a single-use medical device in sachets with powder for preparing an oral suspension.

After opening, each sachet should be used only once. The contents of one sachet should be dissolved in 100 ml of water. To obtain a homogeneous suspension, empty the powder into a glass, add water, and stir slowly. It is recommended to take D-ORS® between meals.

Indications for Use

Comprehensive treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea and painful symptoms associated with gastrointestinal diseases. Prevention of diarrhea caused by radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Recommended Dosage

For the first three days: Children from 2 years old: up to 4 sachets per day. Adults: up to 6 sachets per day. Then continue taking half the dose until diarrhea symptoms disappear.

Duration of Treatment

D-ORS® should be taken for no more than 5 consecutive days. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

How D-ORS® Works

One sachet of D-ORS® contains Diosmectite and electrolytes. Diosmectite is a type of natural clay with a crystalline structure of very thin layers stacked on top of each other, giving it high adsorption capacity. This allows Diosmectite to effectively absorb fluid in the intestinal lumen, increase the consistency of stool, and reduce its frequency. Diosmectite also interacts with glycoproteins in the mucous membrane of the intestinal wall, creating a protective barrier that shields the gastrointestinal tract from excessive acid secretion and harmful substances. Thanks to its balanced electrolyte content, D-ORS® prevents and treats dehydration and normalizes the water-salt balance. Thus, D-ORS® reduces the risk of dehydration due to diarrhea and shortens the duration of diarrhea.

Warnings and Precautions

Consult a doctor for advice in case of concomitant therapy. Keep D-ORS® out of the reach of children. Do not use D-ORS® if the original packaging is damaged.

Warnings

The high adsorption capacity of Diosmectite may affect the absorption of certain orally administered medications in the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, do not use other oral methods of treatment simultaneously with D-ORS®. Consult a doctor before using D-ORS® in combination with other medications. During pregnancy and lactation, consult a doctor regarding the use of D-ORS®. D-ORS® should not be taken by patients with ileostomies. Patients with diabetes or those on specific diets should be aware that D-ORS® contains sugar.

Shelf Life and Storage Conditions

The shelf life of D-ORS® is 3 years. Do not use D-ORS® after the expiration date indicated on the packaging. Store D-ORS® at room temperature and avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, moisture, and contact with water. The shelf life refers to the undamaged product under proper storage conditions.
